Thank you Mum

A letter from a mother to her mother, appreciating motherhood and wisdom

Dear mum,

A mother’s role might be underappreciated, especially in today’s every changing world. Now that I’m a mother I have come to appreciate motherhood as one of the most challenging yet rewarding roles in my life.

I do believe that I am a strong woman, but this is definitely because I had an even stronger mother who instinctively taught her the abstract yet most important things to lead a fulfilling life.

Therefore, I would like to thank you mum for:

Teaching me the value of unconditional love.
I thank you mum for your sacrifice, time, dedication, blood, patience, and sweat. You taught me how to be selfless and love unconditionally.

Teaching me the value of independence.
Thank you mum for raising me whilst still having a thriving full-time job. You pretty much showed me how to be super woman.

Indulging me to create my own happiness.
Despite the dark moments in life, I thank you mum for always showing me the light at the end of the tunnel. I thank you mum for making me smile and appreciating life EVERY DAY.

Teaching me to look forward, not back.
No matter what you taught me how to pick myself up and fight my battles in life. Being stuck in the past will never lead us to our goals and dreams.

Teaching me to be a good mother.
Thank you mum for caring about our family and showing us how hard work pays off. With your constant protection, kindness, strength, and resilience I will now definitely be following in your footsteps.
