The Model Shop

In 1983, John Camilleri and his business partner realised that the country needed a specialist toys and hobby shop. They created an upmarket store that quickly gained a reputation for unbeatable service and product range. Within a short time, John bought out his partner and took over all operations.

Today, The Model Shop has 3 outlets in Malta, located in Iklin, Paola and Luqa as well as an outlet in Gozo. The first toyshop opened in 1983 in Iklin and quickly gained a reputation for its unbeatable service and product range. Stocking an impressive range of toys, games, model and hobby supplies, The Model Shop has always been a front-runner in the toy retail business. In 2015 this outlet was completely refurbished and enlarged its retail space to over 650sqm, consolidating their position as the leading players in the toy and hobby industry on the island.

Feeling the need for a top quality toyshop in the south of Malta, in September 2015 they opened their second outlet at Main Street Complex, Paola and only 2 years later, they opened their third toyshop, again in the southern part of the island, Luqa. Both these outlets, provide the same quality products and services as their flagship outlet in Iklin.

In April 2018, The Model Shop opened its fourth outlet at The Duke’s Shopping Mall in Gozo where there is over 180sqm. of retail space displaying their extensive range of brands and products.

The Model Shop’s mission is to nurture fun and creativity in every child and to provide products of critical acclaim for the contribution to the child’s learning development through play.
